Dental Clinic
Tharawal Dental Clinic is an accredited dental clinic that provides oral health services to the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community of all ages.
Eligibility
To access Tharawal Dental Clinic services, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and
- Have Confirmation of Aboriginality on file (or a parent’s if under the age of 18), and
- Completed a 715 health assessment at Tharawal Medical Service within the last 12 months

- Routine dental checkups and screening
- Scaling and cleaning
- Application of fluoride
- Fillings
- Extractions
- Fissure sealants
- Treatment for dental emergencies & pain
- Specialist referrals
- Root Canal Treatment – conditions apply
- Mouthguards – conditions apply
- Dentures – conditions apply
Appointments
Appointments are available through Dental reception. If you would like to make an appointment, please contact reception via phone or attend in person at the service. We do not make bookings via email or online enquiries.
Emergencies
If you are experiencing a dental emergency, you may present to the Dental Clinic without a prior appointment. On arrival, you will be triaged by the clinic team. We strongly encourage dental emergencies to present at 9am to assist with triaging and treatment planning.
Please note: we cannot guarantee the time that walk-in presentations will be seen, and there may be waiting times. Every effort is made to see them as soon as possible.
If you are experiencing a dental emergency outside of our operating hours, please contact your nearest hospital or urgent care facility.
